The Regional Court in Bratislava rejected the complaint of the company MARIANUM – funeral undertaking of the municipality Bratislava.
(Bratislava 11.2.2010) The Regional Court in Bratislava rejected the complaint of the company MARIANUM – funeral undertaking of the municipality Bratislava (hereinafter only “Marianum”) and confirmed the decision of the Antimonopoly Office of the SR of June 2008, as well as the fine in the amount of € 237.668,46 for abuse of a dominant position.

The Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic imposed a fine in the total amount of 48 373 € on fifteen companies for conclusion of an agreement restricting competition
(Bratislava 22.01.2010) Division of Agreements Restricting Competition of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter only “the Office”) imposed the fine in the total amount of 48 373 € on the companies NATUR-PACK, a.s., KOSIT, a.s., .A.S.A. SLOVENSKO, spol. s r.o., OLO, a.s., KOL - EKO, spol. s r.o., EKOBARD, a.s., Irena Lamancova – Druhotne suroviny, Technicke sluzby, s.r.o., Anna Tothova – FLEXIBEL, MIRABA, s.r.o., VYDRUS, spol. s r.o., Julius Mesaros, NOVIMPEX, spol. s r.o., FURA, s.r.o. and VEPOS – SKALICA, s.r.o. for conclusion of agreement restricting competition.
Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic has a new spokesman
(Bratislava 8.1.2010) Vladimir Ferko has become the new Spokesman and Press Officer of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic since January 7, 2010. He succeeded in the selection procedure, which took place on December 14-15, 2009. He replaced the former Spokeswoman and Press Officer Alexandra Bernathova.
The Antimonopoly Office of the SR imposed a total fine in amount of € 13 404 for breaching the competition rules in cosmetics distribution
(Bratislava 04.01.2010) Division of Agreements Restricting Competition of the Antimonopoly Office of the SR imposed a total fine in the amount of 13 404 € on company FM Group World, Sp.k. and on its exclusive distributor in the territory of the Slovak Republic, to the company FM Group Sl, s.r.o. for concluding an agreement restricting competition.
The Council of the Antimonopoly Office of the SR confirmed the fine in the amount of € 10 191 800 for bank cartel
(Bratislava 21.12.2009) On November 19, 2009 the Council of the Antimonopoly Office of the SR confirmed the first instance decision of Division of Agreements Restricting Competition in its matter-of-fact, by which it decided that undertakings Vseobecna uverova banka, a.s. (hereinafter only „VUB, a.s.“) Slovenska sporitelna, a.s. (hereinafter only „SLSP, a.s.“) and Ceskoslovenska obchodna banka, a.s. (hereinafter only „CSOB, a.s.“) concluded prohibited agreement restricting competition and it imposed a total fine in the amount of € 10 191 800 (SKK 307 038 166,8).
The Antimonopoly Office of the SR imposed a fine in the amount of € 500 on Slovak Chamber of Psychologists for breaching the Act on Protection of Competition
(Bratislava 18.12.2009) Division of Agreements Restricting Competition of the Antimonopoly Office of the SR imposed the fine in the amount of € 500 (SKK 15 063) on Slovak Chamber of Psychologists (hereinafter only “the Chamber”) for breaching the Act on Protection of Competition.

(Bratislava 30.11.2009) Division of Concentrations of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic approved concentration notified pursuant to article 10 par. 10 of the Act on Protection of Competition, which will arise on a basis of acquisition of indirect exclusive control by the company Flextronics through the company Flextronics International Kft., Hungary (hereinafter „Flextronics Hungary“) over the part of the enterprise of the company Stribel Production GmbH, Germany (hereinafter „Stribel Production“), through the company Flextronics Hungary over the part of the enterprise of the company HS-Elektronik GmbH, Germany (hereinafter „HS-Elektronik“), through the company Flextronics Design s.r.o., Czech Republic (hereinafter „Flextronics Czech“) over the part of the enterprise of the company Stribel Czech s.r.o., Czech Republic (hereinafter „Stribel Czech“), through the company Flextronics International Cork B.V., Netherlands (hereinafter „Flextronics Cork“) over the part of the enterprise of the company Stribel Ireland Ltd., North Ireland (hereinafter „Stribel Ireland“) and through the company Flextronics International GmbH, Austria (hereinafter „Flextronics Austria“) over the enterprise of the company Stribel Hungary Korlátolt Felelősségü Társaság, Hungary (hereinafter „Stribel Hungary“). The concentration should arise on a basis of the Contract on Purchase of Property and Stocks between Stribel Production GmbH, HS-Elektronik GmbH, Striebel Czech S.R.O., Striebel Ireland Ltd., Striebel Hungary Kft. and Alcoa Inc. and Flextronics International Krt., Flextronics Design S.R.O., Flextronics International Cork B.V., Flextronics International GmbH (Austria), Sidler Automotive GmbH & Co. KG and Flextronics International Ltd., proposal of which was submitted to the Office and its basic conditions and conclusion were agreed in the document Preliminary Agreement in the form of accepted written bid (Letter of Intent) of July 17, 2009.
The Antimonopoly Office of the SR confirmed the fine in the amount of €17 453 362,54 imposed on undertaking Slovak Telekom, a.s. for abuse of a dominant position
(Bratislava 30.4.2009) The Council of the Antimonopoly Office of the SR confirmed the fine in the amount of €17 453 362,54 imposed on undertaking Slovak Telekom, a.s. for abuse of a dominant position using the exclusive anticompetitive practices pursuant to the Article 82 of the Treaty Establishing the European Community and pursuant to the Act on Protection of Competition. Since also the acquis communautaire has been violated the case was also submitted to the European Commission in order to apply acquis communautaire harmoniously.

(Bratislava 26.11.2009) The Council of the Office confirmed the fine in the amount of € 13 000 imposed on undertaking Marti Tunnelbau AG and fine in the amount of € 4 500 imposed on undertaking Danubia Invest, a.s. for breaching the prohibition to exercise the rights and obligations resulting from a concentration of undertakings Marti Tunnelbau AG, Danubia Invest, a.s. and BRA-VUR, a.s., before the decision on this concentration came into force.

(Bratislava 30.10.2009) Division of Concentrations of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic approved concentration of the German undertakings Stefan Messer, Dr. Karl-Gerhard Siefert, Trevira GmbH i.I., the Polish undertaking Trevira Polska Sp.z.o.o. and the Italian undertaking Trevira Italia S.r.l.
The Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic imposed a fine in the amount of 3 319 EUR on Slovak Bar Association for breaching the competition rules
(Bratislava 29.10.2009) Division of Agreements Restricting Competition of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic imposed again a fine in the amount of 3 319 EUR on Slovak Bar Association (hereinafter only “the Association”) for breach of the Act on Protection of Competition as well as the Article 81 of the EC Treaty by many provisions of the Advocates` Order.
