On 12 July 2017 the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, the Division of Abuse of a Dominant Position and Vertical Agreements, (hereafter "the Office") initiated on the basis of its own incentive the administrative proceedings in the matter of possible abuse of a dominant position pursuant to the Art. 8 Par. 2 of Act No. 136/2001 Coll. On the Protection of Competition (hereafter "the Act") and Art. 102 Letter a) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union in the area of transport.

Based on the investigation the Office acquired information and documentation indicating that an undertaking might have abused its dominant position in the area of providing transport services.

Pursuant to the Act the undertaking will be fined for the infringement of the prohibition to abuse a dominant position up to 10 % of the turnover of the previous period.

The initiation of the administrative proceedings does not mean that the party to the proceedings has infringed competition rules nor does it prejudge the conclusions which the Office will come to in its decision.
