AMO SR supports the adoption of World Competition Day

Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic (hereafter "the Office") also this year decided to join national competition authorities which support the declaration of 5th December as World Competition Day. In 2017 the main topic of the 8th World Competition Day organized by INCSOC and CUTS International is "Competition and Disruption". Through various activities they intend raise the awareness of consumers and producers from all around the world about the benefits of effectively functioning competitive environment and also draw the attention to competition policy and current law issues at an international level. 

The Office expresses its support towards the endeavour of the organizations also by its 2 training activities aimed at preventing competition from being disrupted in nowadays situation. On 6 and 7 December 2017 the following activities will be held:
  • training on "Anti-competitive Practices in Public Procurement" for CCP OLAF and
  • specialized training on "Competition Rules  - Anti-competitive Practices in Public Procurement; EU Rules on State Aid and De Minimis Aid" for representatives of Slovak self-governing regions.
The Office believes that activities raising awareness about current competition issues and the benefits of an effectively functioning competitive environment will contribute to healthier competition in the market.
