MERGERS: AMO SR approved the establishment of fully functioning joint venture Fehmarn Services

On November 4, 2014 the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, Division of Concentrations approved the concentration consisting in establishment of fully functioning joint venture Fehmarn Services A/S („FSS“) seating in Denmark by the undertakings Ramirent Plc, Finland and Zeppelin Rental GmbH & Co. KG, Germany.
Company Ramirent belongs to the Ramirent group. It acts in Slovakia via the company RAMIRENT spol. s r.o., which deals with the innovative solutions for equipment rental services for construction, manufacturing, plumbing, industrial companies and individuals.
Company Zeppelin Rental belongs to the Zeppelin group. In Slovakia it acts via the company Zeppelin SK s.r.o., which is active in the market of construction, road and agricultural machines, energy systems, motors, quarry machines and small construction machines.
Joint venture FSS will act in the area of rental of equipment and relating services for construction companies relating to project of construction of tunnel Fehmarn Belt and also during the construction of additional infrastructure on both sides of the tunnel, it means in Denmark and in Germany. Joint venture FSS will not operate in the territory of the Slovak Republic.
Evaluating all acquired documents and materials the Office concluded that the assessed merger does not infringe effective competition in the relevant market, mainly as result of creation or strengthening of dominant position and it approved the merger.
Decision came into force on 13 November 2014.
