Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, the Division of Abuse of Dominant Position and Vertical Agreements, (hereafter "the Office") confirms that from 6 August 2018 to 7 August 2018 it carried out an unannounced inspection at the premises of undertaking acting in the area of purchase, distribution and sale of children's goods in the territory of the Slovak Republic.

The inspection was carried out on the basis of a reasonable suspicion that the agreement restricting competition might have been concluded by the side of the undertaking operating in the area in question, namely in connection with direct or indirect determining prices and/or other business conditions for the sale of the products concerned to retail customers - e-shops operators with children´s goods who sell these products to end customers. The Office considered it necessary to investigate suspicion of possible infringement of competition rules.

If the infringement of competition rules is proved, a fine of up to 10 % of the turnover for the previous closed accounting period may be imposed on undertakings.

The fact that the Office carried out inspections does not mean that the entity concerned has infringed competition rules nor does it prejudge the conclusions of the investigation.

At this stage, the Office does not provide any further information on the investigation.
