Workshop on cartel agreements in public procurement

On September 4, 2012 the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter “AMO”) together with Regional Educational Center in Martin held another from the series of workshops “Collusions in Public Procurement – Bid-rigging”. It was organized for the representatives of local governments. Specialists from AMO explained the essence of bid-rigging, why it is harmful practice a how to cope with it. They made obvious the indicia of collusion (cartel agreement between bidders on a basis of which the winner is agreed beforehand) and gave advice how to prepare tender to minimalize the risk of collusion. The participant learned more about particular cases of bid-rigging handled by AMO, European Commission and other competition authorities.
