Inter-ministry comment procedure on the AMO SR´s implementing regulations related to the draft of Act on Protection of Competition and on Amendment to Certain Acts

The National Council of the Slovak Republic discussed the draft of Act on Protection of Competition and on Amendment to Certain Acts (parliamentary print number 372) (hereafter “the draft of Act”) in the first reading on 26 January 2021. Based on the voting, the draft of Act was assigned to the Committees of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for a discussion and a time limit for its discussion in the second reading was set1.
 
As a part of adopting the new Act on Protection of Competition and on Amendments to Certain Acts, the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic, in coordination with the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, initiated the process of commenting on related decrees at the beginning of February 2021. Therefore, inter-ministry comment procedures are currently ongoing in relation to the following decrees:
  • Decree of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic on the remuneration of members of the Council of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic2,
  • Decree of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, which sets requirements for the notification of a merger3,
  • Decree of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, which sets threshold values ​​for determining whether an agreement between undertakings, the concerted practice of undertakings or the decision of an association of undertakings has a negligible effect on competition4,
  • Decree of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, which sets details on the conditions of settlement5,
  • Decree of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, which sets the details of a leniency programme6.
