Chairman

Juraj Beňa

Chairman

Juraj Beňa assumed the position of Chairman of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic on 1 March 2023, after had being appointed by the President of the Slovak Republic. He came to the Office from the telecommunications company Orange Slovensko, a.s., where he had been working as a legal counsel in the field of regulation and competition law (10/2016 – 2/2023). Previously, he had been working in the Division of Cartels of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic (1/2013 – 9/2016) and in law firms (9/2008 – 1/2013). He has also gained the experience in the field of competition law at international level by participating in a work internship at the European Commission, the Directorate-General for Competition, as a national expert. He has also been active in this field within his lecturing and academic activities. He had graduated at the Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava (9/2003 – 6/2008, master´s degree) and obtained the education in field of international and European law at the University of Amsterdam (9/2009 – 9/2010, LLM degree).


Secretary General

Renáta Kopperová

Secretary General

Renáta Kopperová has been working as the Secretary General of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic since 1 September 2023. She came to the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic from the Office of the Public Defender of Rights, where she held various positions for almost 9 years (2014 – 2023), most recently the position of the Director General of Management and Administration Section (2019 – 2023). She had graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice (2009 – 2016, JUDr. degree). She had also studied law at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki (2012) and Panthéon-Assas University in Paris (2014). Within her membership in the organizational and management team of a voluntary civil association, she leads people to professionally perform work in the state and public service, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of state administration.


Vice-Chairman

Peter Demčák

Vice-Chairman

Peter Demčák became the Vice-Chairman of the Antimonopoly Office of the SR on 1 August 2023. Immediately before assuming the position of Vice-Chairman, he had headed the health department at the Recovery and Resilience Plan Section at the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic (3/2022 – 7/2023). As part of his work at Transparency International Slovakia (9/2021 – 3/2022), he had specialized in regulated sectors and public procurement. At the law offices TaylorWessing e/n/w/c advokáti s. r. o. (1/2017 – 8/2021) and Havel, Holásek & Partners, s.r.o. (8/2012 – 6/2013) he had headed the department of competition and also of public procurement. In the past, he had been working for more than fourteen years at the Antimonopoly Office of the SR, where he had managed the department of cartels and also the department of legislative-legal and European affairs. Peter Demčák is the author of several articles and publications related to competition, and he has also dealt with this area within the framework of conducting training activities and professional seminars. He had graduated at the Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava (1997 – 2002; masters´s degree).
