On 16 September 2016 the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, Division of Cartels (hereafter “the Office”), initiated the administrative proceedings in the matter of possible agreement restricting competition concluded between the undertakings relating to contracts on construction works and delivery of technical equipment for multifunctional playgrounds.

On the basis of gathered evidence the Office has acquired a reasonable suspicion that three undertakings coordinated their bidding procedure in public procurements announced by 6 municipalities in Slovakia for the construction of multifunctional playgrounds. The subject of the contract was the performance of construction works and delivery of technical equipment in the total value of EUR 359 126,30 including VAT. These projects were partially financed from public funds provided by the Government Office.

The initiation of administrative proceedings does not imply that the parties to the proceedings have infringed the competition rules, nor does it prejudge the conclusions the Antimonopoly Office may reach in its decision.
