OLAF informed about investigations in 2020 concerning possible misuse of EU funds for agriculture in the SR

On 21 January 2021 the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) issued a press release, by which it informed about three investigations, which it closed last year, in relation to the possible misuse of EU funds for agriculture in the Slovak Republic.
In the press release, OLAF pointed out that the findings include irregularities in direct payments for farmers in the SR in the amount of more than one million euros and systemic weaknesses in the national procedures of verification of these payments. The investigations concerned direct payment applications made between 2013 and 2019 by several companies.
