Workshop “Collusions in Public Procurement – Bid-rigging” for employees of the National Highway Company

On September 7, 2011 the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter “AMO”) held the workshop “Collusions in Public Procurement – Bid-rigging” organized for the employees the National Highway Company. The experts of AMO prepared several contributions explaining why bid-rigging is harmful and how to interfere with it. The attendees of the workshop were made clear indications of collusion and advised how to prepare tenders with minimum risk of collusion. The participants also got knowledge of the cases of bid-rigging solved by AMO, European Commission and other competition authorities. They became familiar with the possibilities of applications of Certificate of Independent Bid Determination (CIBD) and with the possibilities of cooperation by detecting cartels in public procurement.
